The Estée Lauder Companies is currently recruiting for an Environmental Health & Safety Advisor within the Supply Chain Environmental Affairs And Safety Department on a full-time permanent basis to join an experienced and committed team at Whitman Laboratories where as a team we manufacture around a fifth of Estée Lauder's global sales output.

Key Responsibilities will include:
- Act as EHS Advisor across business areas
- Provide advice and guidance on Environmental Health and Safety matters within their knowledge and refer requests for assistance to senior personnel within the department where necessary.
- Assist in the investigation of accidents and incidents and preparation of reports with recommendations
- Provide support and guidance to managers for workplace hazard identification, assisting in risk assessments and implementation of solutions
- Support onsite and global Behaviour-Based Safety program.
- Conduct EHS Audits and inspections to ensure site compliance with EHS processes and procedures.
- Support monthly reporting on EHS metrics as required at both site and corporate levels.
- Assist in the specification / selection of the onsite work wear, footwear and PPE.
- Support department managers on environmental requirements such as waste and spill control systems.
- Maintains an awareness of new and existing relevant laws, rules and regulations
- Support department managers with non-conformities to ensure timely compliance
- Support occupational health and ergonomic partnership initiatives as required.
- Support the implementation and maintenance of the EHS management system.
- Support department managers development of COSHH assessments and maintenance of the Chemical management system
- Provide support for the activities of the Environmental Health & Safety Department within a supply chain environment, to ensure that environmental health and safety risks are kept to a minimum through effective compliance with EHS policies, procedures, and legislation.
- Provide Health, Safety and Environmental training and instruction, assist with the promotion of environmental health & safety policies, procedures & operational practices, to provide advice and assist in environmental health & safety projects within their sphere of competency.
- Ensures that operating facilities are in compliance with applicable laws and conforming to the corporate Environmental and Safety Management System (ESMS) requirements. Maintain and develop the ESMS ensuring alignment with current legislation and corporate requirements.

Candidate information:
- Excellent communication skills to communicate effectively in written and oral
- Self-motivating with the ability to plan and schedule tasks
- Effectively communicate and implement established EHS procedures within the defined business areas
Qualifications that are essential/desirable for this role include:
- Knowledge and experience with UK Environmental, Health & Safety regulations and behavior-based safety programs.
- 2 - 5 years' experience in environmental health & safety in a manufacturing operation
- NEBOSH General Certificate in Health and Safety
- Understanding of risk and COSHH management systems
