Learning Disabilities Support Worker Salary: £19,094 per annum
I am a gentleman looking for a team of support workers to support me to live in my new home.
This is a new and exciting time for me, and I need you to be enthusiastic, with a positive outlook on life and have the ability to use proactive strategies effectively to support me to stay safe, build my independence and learn new skills.
I am an extremely energetic and fit young man, I have lots of sensory needs, I like to go for walks and can be active for large periods of the day.
I like my home to be a non-confrontational and relaxed environment.
I would benefit from support workers who are experienced in working with a Positive Behaviour Support Model and can be absolutely consistent in following my plans as this makes me feel less anxious
I need you to be outgoing and easy to talk to, I can vocalise very loudly at times and for extended periods. I need you to be understanding and non-judgemental so you can support me to manage my needs, develop good routines and build positive, trusting relationships.
The successful candidate will be engaged in a robust, person-centred training programme – you’ll learn new skills and be encouraged to explore continuing professional development opportunities.
You’ll have the satisfaction of building a positive therapeutic relationship with the person you support and build trusting, supportive and professional relationships with those that you work alongside.
We are particularly interested in candidates who have experience as Recovery Support Workers within Recovery, Mental Health, Learning Disabilities, Autism, Outreach or Forensic Work.
If you are a team player with great communication skills, possess an NVQ/QCF 3 or willingness to complete the qualification with Gray Healthcare we’d love to hear from you.
If you currently don’t have these qualifications, then we’d still like to hear from you. Were working on an exciting development and will in the coming months be able to offer a comprehensive training and induction pathway for those of you who want to change careers and work with a forward thinking and exciting Healthcare company like us.
If you have experience in customer services, retail, or catering, call one of our recruitment team who will provide you with more details about this exciting development opportunity.
Here at Gray Healthcare we believe that no person should remain in an acute or long stay hospital environment for a day longer than is necessary. We do not discriminate with risk history; we work beyond the label and prioritise the individual and their right to live in the community.
We are a company passionate about delivering truly person-centred support and we are guided by our values in all that we do.
