Location:
Ideally, hybrid classification (minimum 2 days/week in company office, 3 days home office) within commuting distance to Carlstadt, NJ (or possibly Wythenshawe, England).
Also willing to consider remote candidates!
Summary:
This role proactively identifies, evaluates, cultivates, wins, and sustains licensing opportunities with industry-leading and start-up materials suppliers, across a wide range of use cases.
Talk to global prospects and licensees, coordinate with several internal departments, and develop, launch and run a growing, global portfolio of licensed material partners.
Manage day-to-day details with an active information flow between internal teams in Licensing, Marketing, Finance, Color Technology, Legal, and our licensee partners to facilitate commercial development of prospects and related marketing activity, with attention to the level of detail required.
Travel occasionally, and meet virtually with prospects, licensees, and team members with full accountability for revenue growth and business results.
Main Duties/Responsibilities
- Drives strategy and works with colleagues globally to develop new materials licensing deals while building upon the success of existing ones.
- Executes standard work and drives daily management of prospect/licensee funnel to exceed important metrics through tight coordination with the internal team.
- Is responsible for licensee results, troubleshooting any issues with activity, promotions or financial reporting by licensees, and address any issues.
- Innovates to improve efficiency and quality of every phase of the licensing commercial process.
- Inspires the confidence of new business prospects, maintains consistent and reliable communication that is on brand.
- Forms an excellent working relationship with key licensees to help them perform and ensure compliance with licensing terms and conditions.
- Celebrate successes with the team! Provide visibility of new and exciting category developments to management and coworkers.
Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform major duties/responsibilities:
- Strong project management skills and attention to detail
- A proven track record of implementing projects with a high level of complexity and detail.
- Diplomatic and able to influence without direct control or authority.
- Effective and strong leadership (personal and team).
- Understanding of contract development.
- Knowledge of contract law and trademark management would be useful but not required.
- Communication skills with proven proficiencies in team building, influencing and active account management.
- Thinks strategically and executes on related detailed action plans with associates and licensees.
- Must be self motivated with a positive outlook and focused on quality work.
- Plans days in an organized manner and pays attention to details and accuracy.
- Ability to identify issues and make independent decisions, collaborating with others as needed.
- Cooperative nature with excellent communication skills to work cross-functionally with influence.
- Effective planning, organization, communication, and presentation capabilities.
Education Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in business, marketing or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience in business development, cross-functional team leadership, promotional marketing, consultation, or similar background.
