Converge is looking for a Technical Lead to join our software engineering team and help us disrupt the construction industry.
As a technical lead, you will be responsible for architecting the product, leading technical decisions, driving consensus within the team, reviewing pull requests, and committing high-quality code and tests.
Culturally, we are mostly consensus based and we value high-quality writing to convey information as a medium for debate, typically structured around RFCs. The wider team (including the software team) is very multicultural, with over eighteen nationalities represented, and we are always looking to improve the diversity of the team.
We are building a highly complex product, and a completely new category of system for the construction industry, and so you will need to absorb lessons from other industries, as well as be ready to experiment with brand new techniques and technologies.
For this role, you must have proven experience in building data-intensive applications, and enabling organizations to scale through excellent software architecture. We also expect you to have a deep understanding of cloud-native systems, and to be able to build them at a high pace.

About the role
Your role will be a mix of technical leadership, and direct contribution to the codebase. You will also work alongside our CTO and the team to architect and build our Physical Intelligence Platform, developing and incorporating several new products across 2021/22. For that, we're looking for an outcome-focused individual, who is capable of balancing business needs and technical requirements.
In addition to leading technical discussions, we expect you to be an excellent individual contributor, committing high quality code and tests, as well as providing rigorous feedback as part of our code reviews. As a technical lead, we also expect you to provide more junior members of the team with technical mentorship, and help them develop their technical skills.
