You’ll support people with a learning disability, autism or both, at home and in the community to live life in the way they choose. You don’t necessarily need experience as we provide full training.
You’ll join our friendly teams, enabling people with a learning disability to increase their independence; there’s lots of variety. You’ll support individuals in all aspects of daily living; from cooking to managing finances. Supporting people with their personal care and medication needs is also key. As a support worker you’ll also support people to do things in their community; from shopping and going on day trips to sport and visiting day centres. If you’re new to social care, we will support you gain the nationally recognised Care Certificate. If you have experience as a care assistant or care worker in a care home, you’ll discover we provide plenty of on-going training, support to achieve relevant qualifications and career progression. You’ll need good communication skills and a positive, patient approach. Respectful of people’s differences, you can build professional relationships and have a flexible approach. You can work 24/7 shifts including weekends and evenings / nights. A full driving licence is essential for some roles.

Support workers work flexible shifts to provide a 24/7 service to people we support.
Full-time support workers work 37.5 hours plus one sleep-in a week (pay for sleep-ins included in annual salary above). Some services do not require sleep-ins, and salary for these roles is £17,794 - £18,492 pa.
You have the option of working additional hours or sleep-ins in a range of services - paid at £50-£70 extra per sleep-in.
