Your Impact:
We are looking for an Assistant Project Manager to join our specialist PM function within our Cities & Places Group. Experience in supporting small to middle scale projects in the built environment sector is essential.
The team consists of professional project managers who act as specialist project management and project control consultants to key clients in the buildings sector.
We are looking for someone who will support and manage the provision of technical consultancy services. You will also contribute to the solution of technical issues arising within projects. Due to the varied nature of the potential work, the candidates are required to be familiar with project development stages RIBA 2-6 from concept through to detailed design and construction / implementation using the linear integrated project lifecycle stages set by the client (APM equivalent).
The successful candidates will be flexible in regards working locations, knowledgeable and willing and able to function both within the team and independently as required.
The Assistant Project Manager working in this role will:
- Provide essential support to the Project Manager, managing all aspects of the successful delivery of projects in the Built Environment
- Assist the management/reporting requirements and the delivery of the project to the required standard, on time and within budget
- Work with clients, contractors and internal & external stakeholders and designers with a diverse range of objectives
- Comply with all relevant Legislation, Policies, Procedures and Contract Requirements (NEC3/4 experience preferred)
Here's What You'll Need:
- Degree qualified in appropriate engineering, construction or management subject
- Ideally be a member of the Association of Project Management or other recognised professional body with experience of project and programme management
- Experience of working on complex engineering and/or construction projects
- Understanding of the principles and practices of planning, risk and cost management at programme and project levels
- Understanding of design and development processes and their governance
- Awareness of the stage-gate principles of project delivery is required.
- Awareness of UK Health and Safety Legislation.
- Excellent Communication skills
- Report the commercial status of projects in accordance with company methods
- Assist project delivery to the cost, the time and the quality objectives of the company and clients
- Capable of effective multi-task working, identifying and managing priorities and working to challenging time scales
- Understand the factors affecting motivation of project team members and techniques for risk management
- Competent in MSOffice, MS Project, Earned Value, reporting Tools
