Based in Northampton we ve an exciting, newly created, opportunity within our restructured Group Finance Team., you will become part of the team responsible for reporting the ALD Automotive Group financial results and outlook to the ALD Executive Committee, Soci t G n rale Bank, and External Stakeholders.

Key Purpose

  • Responsible for the timely reporting of a portfolio of countries (Regional / Spanish speaking) ensuring the finance department in each country understands and adheres to ALD group policies and procedures.
  • Manage integration of any new acquisition in the region
  • Accounting and reporting training for Regional / Spanish speaking entities.
  • Responsible for updating and maintaining the SG Portfolio system (Perle).
  • Actively take part in major SG and ALD Group projects, particularly, assisting in Group projects where communication in Spanish will be advantageous.
  • Involvement in additional regulatory/bank reporting as required
  • Co-ownership of the annual reconciliation between Statutory and Management results making sure that all countries reconciliations are approved and signed off by the year end.
  • Assist in reporting the ALD Group results to the ALD Executive Committee and Societe Generale Bank.

Summary or Responsibilities

  • Manage integration of regional entities into the SG reporting tool Figaro to include training entities and resolving queries. Ensure additional Figaro packages are completed accurately for all regional entities.
  • Manage integration of any new acquisition in the region.
  • Management of country portfolio (regional / Spanish speaking) with regards to financial controls, reporting etc. Work with specific entities to improve quality of reporting, develop IFRS compliant management accounts and ensure application of Group Accounting Policies. Effective training provided to LatAm region in order to improve accuracy and quality of reporting. Liaison with country finance teams to enable them to perform all relevant IAS provision calculations (for example, deferred maintenance revenue, Car sales loss provision).
  • Play an active role in the reporting of actual results on a monthly basis ensuring both internal and external requirements are met while providing thorough analysis and understanding of key business issues.
  • Ensure monthly reporting to Societe Generale is successfully achieved via IFC in a timely manner and all queries are resolved. On quarterly basis, this expands to other Figaro supporting packages.
  • Actively take part in major SG and ALD Group projects, particularly, assisting in Group projects where communication in Spanish will be advantageous.
  • Responsible for updating and maintaining the SG Portfolio system (Perle) and liaison with Group Accounting Senior Analyst for submission of the updated report on a quarterly basis. Liaison with Int. SA and France to obtain updated to this report on a quarterly basis.
  • Assist the team with all group reporting requirements as necessary (actual, budgets, forecasts and tax). Provide training to other team members and entity finance staff on technical areas of reporting to include pension accounting, foreign exchange reporting and tax.
  • Co-ownership of the annual reconciliation of Statutory to Management results for the Group s entities, making sure all the statements are thoroughly checked and all differences explained and agreed so that the reconciliations can be signed off by the year end.
  • Participation in the annual budgeting process including review and collation of forecast and budget data received from portfolio of countries, preparation of budget pack to be distributed to the countries and assisting with presentation of the analysis to European Management.
  • Support controlling team to develop and produce monthly accounting controls to ensure reporting is consistent, accurate and efficient. To include balance sheet reviews, analysis and internal control checks.
  • Communicate with and develop relationships with country finance teams, ALD International departments and SG employees.
  • Ensure compliance with approved company, statutory and regulatory policies/procedures.

Essential Criteria

  • Fluency in Spanish language
  • Professional Accountancy Qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or finalist stage
  • Experience or educational background in finance.
  • Computer-literate performer with software proficiency covering a variety of applications.
  • Good communicator and listener who effectively conveys information verbally and in writing.
  • Results driven achiever with planning and organisational skills.
  • Analytical thinker with commercial awareness and an ability to work under pressure.
  • Resourceful team player who can build trusting relationships.
  • Productive worker with solid work ethic who exerts optimal effort in successfully completing tasks
