JOB SUMMARY Job Summary: To assist the Shop Manager to maximise sales of donated and new stock, achieve sales targets, help build stock donations and increase profitability of the shop. Support the implementation of EACH retail policies and support the shop to promote East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH).
Volunteers: To support the volunteer team by providing guidance, training and direction. To promote a happy and supported working environment in which all volunteers can thrive and make a positive contribution.
Retail Performance: To understand the shop performance and support the shop manager to drive income. To ensure there is consistency in the quality and pricing of goods and help manage the sorting, moving and storage of a high volume of donated goods. In the absence of the manager, ensure that all monies are banked & daily/weekly banking and reporting processes are followed.
Community: To support the manager in initiatives to build community support for donations, volunteers and retail activity. To be a good representative of EACH and ensure positive relationships with customers and local communities. Other: To assist in the effective day to day management of Health & Safety and ensuring compliance with EACH policies, procedures and legal requirements.
SKILLS NEEDED Ideally you will have some experience working in a team environment and will have practical experience as a volunteer. Good spoken, written and listening skills and a liking for planning and problem solving. Some experience managing your own work is desirable, along with the ability to lift and sort donated goods. A strong desire to deliver excellent customer service is essential
WORKING HOURS 9 to 5pm with an hour for lunch. Flexible working hours worked over 6 days Monday to Saturday

ADDITIONAL EMPLOYABILITY SUPPORT Supported by The Princes Trust all successful applicants will be mentored by an experienced Retail Manager and guided with an aim to successfully pass our internal Sales Assistant induction and training programme and thereafter gain practical work experience in a busy charity retail environment.
