What You'll Do Our MySQL deployments are on RHEL and CentOS on bare metal and virtualised servers (VMware) within our data centres and IaaS (AWS EC2/Azure VM). We also use DBaaS (AWS RDS/Azure MySQL). Some of these platforms are subject to PCI controls. Working alone or collaboratively, your duties will be varied. Typical tasks would include: • MySQL installation and configuration • User management • Backups and restores • Software updates and maintenance • Creation of stored routines • Housekeeping • Automation and alerting • Log analysis • Service monitoring • Query optimisation • Advising developers on table design • Educating users • Performance Tuning • Benchmarking • Security There will be opportunities to explore related technologies according to individual project requirements. Who You'll Work With You will be working within a team of five DBAs reporting to the DBA Team Leader, where you will be contributing to the reliable delivery of an always available, secure, performant, and consistent service which is essential for the B2C communications upon which numerous enterprises and household names rely. Who You Are You will be a good communicator with at least five years' current experience of MySQL (or MariaDB or Percona Server) working as a DBA within a large organisation.
