Aspris Children’s Services (an independent company which was formally Priory Education and Children’s Services) is one of the UK’s leading independent providers of specialist care and education for a reason. We recruit some of the most committed staff in the sector.
We are seeking a Residential Support Worker to join our children’s home in Northwich, Cheshire. Our home supports up to three young people aged between 8 - 18 years old with emotional and behavioural difficulties. Our children's home is based in a remote location, therefore the successful candidate must be able to drive and have access to your own transport.
As a Residential Support Worker you will be a key member of our team providing high standards of person-centred support and care to our young people throughout their day-to-day life. Through a creative and caring approach you will build good relationships with both students and their families, supporting them in living as independently as possible.
This is a physically demanding role and staff will also need to have the confidence to deal with the challenging behaviours that autism can present. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all our employees to share in this commitment.
We are looking for people with a great sense of humour and the following:
A family is 24/7 and so are we. We use a rota system to ensure the young people in our home get the care they need. Our Support Worker posts will suit people who are prepared to work a three week rolling rota comprising of early and late shifts covering weekdays and weekends. This role will involve some long days and 5 to 10 sleep ins per month.
A Level 3 Residential Childcare qualification is desirable but not essential for this role (we can support with the training of this). Successful applicants will ideally have previous experience of working with young people with challenging behaviour.
At Aspris, we are dedicated to enhancing the life opportunities of the children and young people within our homes, and always celebrate uniqueness and diversity.
Our homes are part of a large children’s group with a national footprint offering significant development, support and progression opportunities. We also operate a fostering service and a number of high quality specialist schools in both the UK and the Middle East.
Aspris is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All applicants must be willing to undergo safeguarding screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure & Barring Service
*Current employees and staff sourced via Recruitment Agency are not eligible to receive the joining bonus.
