About the opportunity:
You will join our Water, Energy & Environment business, which is recognised as the No.1 Environmental Consultancy in the UK by Environment Analyst.
Our work focuses on providing solutions to future challenges such as climate change, the need for renewable energy, low carbon economies, transportation, and material resource and waste management. While we shape some of the very largest and most challenging landmark projects in the UK, we also deliver local projects that protect communities. We are also at the forefront of developing best practice and pragmatic approaches to the delivery of environmental assessments and consents and have extensive capability in EIA, SEA, IIA, Health and Sustainability Appraisals across the full project cycle.
We have opportunities for individuals with a proven track record in environmental leadership to join our team on some of the largest, most complex and exciting projects in the UK. You will have a pivotal role in major project delivery, working closely with our clients and helping to lead our environmental assessment and consents workstreams. Your experience will enable you to identify and manage risks to project delivery and maximise opportunities for efficiencies, promote innovation, provide mentorship and support technical development of our staff.

Our team specialises in nationally significant projects across the UK and Europe, providing technical expertise in all areas of environmental assessment and consenting for clients such as the Environment Agency, National Grid, United Utilities, Southern Water, HS2, National Highways, Network Rail and many more.
We are also at the forefront of developing best practice and pragmatic approaches to the delivery of environmental assessments and consents and have extensive capability in EIA, SEA, IIA, Health and Sustainability Appraisals across the full project cycle.

Here's What You'll Need:
Here's What You'll Need:
- A degree in a relevant discipline.
- A good understanding of the environmental impacts associated with infrastructure developments, especially transport projects and flood defence schemes
- Experience in delivering EIAs and other types of assessments for a range of clients.
- Experience in a key discipline area, such as ecology, landscape assessment, hydrology, and EIA
- Knowledge and understanding of consenting regimes, such as the Planning Act/Development Consent Orders (DCO), Transport & Works Act, and Town & Country Planning Act.
- A good awareness and understanding of relevant stakeholders
- Strong organisational, communication and inter-personal skills and collaborative working capabilities to co-ordinate and work within multi-disciplinary and diverse teams.
- Chartered status and Full Membership of a recognised relevant professional body (e.g. IEMA). Where a candidate does not meet this requirement, they would be expected to achieve this within their first year.
Ideally, you'll also have:
A Masters degree in a relevant discipline, or equivalent level of experience. Experience in client facing roles, and in working closely with client bodies and engaging in proactive consultation with key stakeholders such as Natural England. Team leadership experience and strong communication skills and capability in engaging motivating and influencing staff and clients. An established market reputation and network, and ability to support business development.
