About the opportunity:
Act as the main point-of-contact for all matters of Quality for Jacobs Field Solutions for the AWE Line of Business and other Nuclear and non-nuclear site within the surrounding area. clients. To provide leadership and support to the JFS management team in respect of the Quality function. Liaising and aligning with Jacobs Field Services Quality Manager to ensure consistency of approach to deliver quality systems, procedures and processes at both framework and project level; enabling business delivery of a quality service which is demonstrative of commitment to continuous improvement.
- Ensure QA and QC compliance with legal requirements, client standards, European and British Standards, non-European standards, and project procedures.
- Manage Quality Engineers and Quality Inspectors to ensure adoption of pragmatic approach to assurance of Quality on all phases of the Project, Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning, taking cognizance of commercial, schedule and budget constraints.
- Resource Management - Ensure that the Project Quality organisation has the capability, in terms of skill set, resource levels and procedures, to deliver the agreed business needs.
- Perform general line management responsibilities.
- Report Quality Performance data and metrics to Senior Management / Leadership in the form of OPRs and PARs.
- Lead / support / facilitate technical reviews of tenders (including supply chain) Management of Quality Tenders / Provision of support to Sales Team to support the business in the acquisition of new work.
- Management of Internal and External Audits, both on and off site, in accordance with the Project Audit Schedule.
- Assist with resolution of any Quality related issues arising liaising with internal and external parties, as necessary.
- Management of Supply Chain Quality, inclusive of all pre-qualification assessments, supply chain audits, supply chain performance and general day-to-day management of the supply chain.
- Management of Project Improvements Notices, Defects and Non-Conformances to enable continuous improvement.
- Lead the quality function in achievement of the business' overall quality policy, goals, and objectives.
- To maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and other project stakeholders, inclusive of the Client.
- Develop project-specific operating procedures in conjunction with the Project Manager where necessary, to interface effectively with the Client and Alliance partners.
- Monitor the selection of and management systems of suppliers and subcontractors as part of Vendor assessment, to assure the company and its customers of the competence of suppliers and subcontractors.
- Manage QC/Inspection at suppliers to confirm that goods are in accordance with order and specification requirements and to prevent defective materials and equipment being sent to site.
- Support the Design, Manufacture, and Installation teams in timely delivery of the project.
- Provide an Information Centre service for the Project, to provide relevant technical and other information to engineers and others.
- Lead a performance culture, incorporating the Jacobs values, which develops individuals' capability through an active performance management process, so that not only delivery for the company is enhanced but also the skills, capability and personal satisfaction of an individual is maximised.
- Lead the value plus and sustainability plus corporate and JFS initiatives, reporting the monthly stat's and acting as an ambassador, trainer, and mentor.
- Meets the performance and behavioural requirements to act as a nuclear professional.
- Acts as a mentor & coach (people, process, products) to the JFS team.
- Works collaboratively to drive a CI programme (encourage, maintain, manage, lead)
Here's What You'll Need:
Essential: Qualifications
- Professional / academic qualification associated with Quality management, Construction, M&E welding/heavy fabrication.
- Membership of an appropriate Quality professional body (CQI preferred)
- Auditor trained (IRCA Lead preferred)
- Certificate/Diploma in Quality Management preferred
- Experience in the application of relevant quality / environmental / occupational safety management system standards (ISO 9001/ISO 14001, 45001, AQAP, AWE mandatory requirmenets. Knowledge of the requirements of GS-R-3 (management systems for nuclear installations)
- Experienced in investigation to determine root cause, learning, proposed improvements and verification of implementation of preventative measures to prevent recurrence of failure.
- Experienced in implementation of risk-based QA/QC arrangements and controls proportionate to the assigned Quality Grade and the link to maintaining Nuclear Safety.
- Strong background and experience in Fabrication, Welding and NDE to National and International standards such as ASME and other MoD/Nuclear related specifications and review of associated Lifetime records to verify compliance.
- Nuclear Project delivery and construction experience
- Able to interact and influence at all levels in the organisation and in Clients/Third party organisations.
- Membership of an appropriate Engineering or Technical Professional Institute
- 10 Years' Experience as a Quality Manager/Engineer
