Aon are currently recruiting a Head of Regional Transaction Solutions to join our team in Manchester or Birmingham. The Head of Regional Transaction Solutions will be primarily responsible for driving forward our Transaction Solutions capability in the UK regions.

Aon's M&A and Transaction Solutions (AMATS) team provides both deal advisory services and a wide range of transaction solutions to clients undertaking M&A activity across EMEA. The Pan-European team has grown rapidly in the last four years with over 60 colleagues in London and a total of 140 across EMEA. The team has a diverse range of backgrounds including investment bankers, Big 4, lawyers, actuaries, cyber security experts as well as human capital and risk & insurance specialists.
The team's focus is to be the leading provider of specialist transaction related advisory services, stretching far beyond traditional risk and insurance due diligence. Our broader advisory capabilities include Cyber Security, Human Capital (pension, heath and benefits, compensation and talent), Intellectual Property advisory and we arrange credit/bonding solutions to enable clients to optimise their capital structure. A key focus is developing insurance and alternative capital solutions to reduce exposure to downside risks and cashflow volatility, which can improve risk weighted returns and enhance equity returns.
AMATS' dedicated Regional Team is responsible for coverage of the Aon's regional private equity clients, servicing the M&A needs of Aon's corporate clients plus maintaining regional professional advisor relationships (IB's, lawyers, Big 4). As this team continues to grow we are now recruiting a Transaction Solutions leader for the Regions.
Our Transaction Solutions team deliver structured risk transfer instruments including Warranty & Indemnity insurance and a range of risk transfer solutions for tax, litigation and other contingent risks.
About the Role
Your impact as a Head of Regional Transaction Solutions:
Developing technical structuring and placement knowledge of W&I and wider contingent risk transfer solutions (tax, litigation etc);
Leading the delivery of Warranty & Indemnity insurance advice to clients, including placement design, advising on availability of coverage, enhancements and pricing;
Leading relationships and interactions with key regional W&I insurance markets;
Working with our contingent risk specialists to identify and advise on wider contingent risk transfer opportunities;
Working with the UK Regional AMATS and wider Aon UK Retail teams to develop Transaction Solutions business across the UK, with a focus on private equity and professional advisor relationships;
In conjunction with the Transaction Solutions Chief Broking Officer developing bespoke and tailored solutions, which enable AMATS to differentiate our Transaction Solutions offering in the regional M&A mid-market.
Responsibility for working in accordance with the Aon UK Limited Risk Management Framework, and compliance with the Aon UK Limited policies, including participation in the management of risks (including completion of mandatory training) that may adversely affect the business, interests or reputation of any Group Company.
Your knowledge and expertise:
Knowledge of Mergers & Acquisitions / Warranty & Indemnity risk;
Ability to use insurance industry IT systems to efficiently deliver client service;
Experience of managing effective client relationships;
Good analytical and problem-solving skills;
Excellent interpersonal skills;
High level of numeracy;
Effective communication and presentation skills;
Excellent understanding and application of compliance and FCA regulation;
Ability to work well as part of a team;
Demonstrate integrity and professionalism;
Significant M&A advisory experience gained from a Lawyer, or specialist Insurance Broker;
Deep M&A sector knowledge and expertise plus;
Track record of working across UK M&A market.
