Element Environmental Laboratory has an opportunity for a Trainee Asbestos Analyst to join the team within our Deeside Laboratory consisting of 9 asbestos analysts and technicians. The department undertakes asbestos identification and quantification in soils and ACMs under ISO 17025 accreditation

Element Environmental Laboratory Deeside is the largest analytical chemistry laboratory within the Element Group and the market leading UK laboratory undertaking the testing of soils, waters, wastes, oils, NAPLs, ambient air, soil vapours and gases from all over the world. The laboratory undertakes high volume routine analysis as well as offering bespoke method development, technical support and hydrocarbon forensic interpretations to enhance the support we can deliver. The laboratory has an international reputation for service excellence and supports clients that require a higher level of technical expertise, reliability in data quality and seamless project management from sample collection to timely delivery of data in the format of choice.

  • Preparation of samples ready for analysis
  • Analyse soil and bulk materials for the presence and quantity of asbestos
  • Ensure deadlines are met
  • Follow procedures and ensure the quality standard is met
  • Participate in quality assurance audit programme
  • Keep the laboratory clean and tidy

  • The successful candidate will be given full training and support in order to help them achieve a P401 qualification.
  • Experience and knowledge of ISO 17025 and Lab 30 practices and procedures would be advantageous
