This is an opportunity to take ownership of your own caseloads, assist clients through the drafting of relevant documents and ensure compliance to enable housing transactions to go through smoothly. You will be working closely with our client’s Private Client Assistants and Legal Administrators to ensure a first class service is provided.
In this role you will assume full start-to-finish responsibility for residential conveyancing matters, supporting other members of the team and liaising with clients as appropriate. Take ownership of the allocated caseload liaise with developers and oversee the smooth progress of all property transactions. You will also work closely with the others within the wider Real Estate Group and ensure all appropriate quality service and compliance for all matters are met.
You will be responsible for:
Must be familiar with drafting all types of wills from simple single/mirror wills to more complicated wills to include, as an example, a life interest trust or a discretionary trusts following instruction from the lawyer instructed in the matter.
Knowledge of relevant will clauses and the ability to apply them correctly. This will include both specific and pecuniary legacies, residue clauses and other administrative clauses. The ability to, when required, research with various legal resources and select and apply the correct clause. Drafting all wills and all relating correspondence in readiness to send to client. Receiving further information from lawyers and making any necessary amendments until completed for approval. Sending final will to client/arranging signing meeting with lawyer and sending closing at the end of the matter. Probate / power of attorney skills are not essential but would be helpful Use initiative in consultation with the relevant lawyers. Proper maintenance of the lawyer’s flies including timely filing of papers and recording the movement of files handed to another lawyer or removed from the office.
What’s Needed to be considered?
Previous experience as a Will Writer Qualifications are not absolutely essential for this role provided you have the experience to draft routine wills and lasting powers of attorney
