Job Summary
As part of the Deeside Automation Team within the Operations function, you will oversee the planning, execution, and tracking of key, complex capital projects in accordance with agreed upon deliverables, timings and budgets.
You will bring a strong technical knowledge of project management skills, techniques and processes. You will use engineering knowledge, data and experiences to evaluate solutions and provide recommendations that ensures the equipment meets the requirements of the User Requirement Specification and production performance expectations on start up.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Work closely with equipment manufacturers to ensure that capital equipment is delivered in line with the User Requirement Specification.
- Ability to partner, form and lead teams with cross-functional groups ensuring common team objectives, goals and milestones are met.
- Candidate must be able to work with other Project Managers, both internally across functions and externally.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate to a diverse audience, at multiple levels within the company using a variety of formats, presentations, emails, leading meetings, face to face, etc.
- Must be able to navigate internal processes and overcome barriers to effectively implement new equipment, materials or processes.
- Will manage multiple projects and various stages and levels of complexity and demonstrate ability to prioritize per business needs.
- Create detailed work plans for assigned projects which identify and sequence the activities needed to successfully complete each project
- Determine the resources (time, money, capital equipment, etc.) required to complete the project and resolve resource conflicts
- Develop schedules for project completion that effectively allocates the resources to the activities
- Review project schedules with senior management and project team members; revise schedules/plan as required
- Determine the objectives and measures upon which projects will be evaluated at completion
- Develop forms and records to document project activities
- Set up files to ensure that all project information is appropriately documented and secured
- Understands and ensures teams comply to ConvaTec's Quality Systems
- Monitor the progress of the project and adjust as necessary to ensure the successful completion of the project
- Establish a communication schedule to update stakeholders including appropriate staff in the organization on the progress of the project
- Review the quality of the work completed with the project team on a regular basis to ensure that it meets the project standards
- Write reports on the project for management
- Ensure that the project deliverables are on time, within budget and at the required level of quality
- Evaluate the outcomes of the project as established during the planning phase
- Experience in effectively communicating to a diverse audience at multiple levels within the organization through various formats such as presentations, written proposals/reports/correspondence, leading meetings, face-to-face dialogue, etc.
Principal Contacts
- The nature of this role will require the individual to deal with a wide scope of contacts at different levels of seniority within the organization to ensure smooth execution of project activities. In addition, the individual will need to deal with contacts external to the organization and these may be external companies or government agencies.
Travel Requirements Yes
Role may involve occasional travel to supplier facilities to ensure that projects are delivered on-time.
Language Skills Required
- Speaking: Yes English

Education/Experience/Qualifications
BS or BA. Master or advanced degree preferred in Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or Controls Systems or time served apprenticeship and relevant experience.
Certification in Project Management from a recognized certified body is desirable such as:
- APMP/ APM PQ (practitioner qualification)
- APM RPP (registered project professional)
- PRINCE2 practitioner.
- PMP (certified project management professional)
- CMI diploma in project management
A Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification (or higher) is desirable.
Requirements:
- Proficiency in the use of MS Word, MS Project, MS Excel, database software, SAP, MS Outlook, A project management certification is desirable
- Experience of delivering capital projects (equipment procurement, commissioning and validation) is desirable.
- Experience of using equipment derived process data to drive process improvement e.g. Industry 4.0 implementation
- Experience on working within a regulated industry (Medical device, Pharmaceutical, Aerospace, Nuclear, automotive etc)
- Experience of working in diverse cultures
- Strong planning and organizational skills
- Communication capabilities to all levels within the organization
- Understand ethical behavior and business practices
- Speak, listen and write in a clear, thorough and timely manner using appropriate and effective communication tools and techniques.
- Work cooperatively and effectively with others to set goals, resolve problem, and make decisions that enhance organizational effectiveness.
- Positively influence others to achieve results that are in the best interest of the organization.
- Assess situations to determine the importance, urgency and risks, and make clear decisions which are timely and in the best interests of the organization.
- Set priorities, develop a work schedule, monitor progress towards goals, and track details/data/information/activities.
- Assess problem situations to identify causes, gather and process relevant information, generate possible solutions, and make recommendations and/or resolve the problem.
