Software Engineer (Perception - Vision) Robotics

Our Perception team:

• Design and develop algorithms and applications
• Develop pipelines and tooling for scalable data labelling
• Continually improve our machine learning algorithms
• Optimise our AV perception systems to improve scalability, efficiency and inference speed
• Collaborate with other specialist teams to advance both our core technology stack as well as our perception composite product (as an independent part of that product set)

A day in the life of a Software Engineer (Perception) will include but is not limited to:

• Designing and developing improvements to core vision perception algorithms.
• Creating and extending pipelines for regression and performance testing of perception software
• Working with primarily camera based imaging sensors, in addition to LIDAR, radar.
• Working as part of a team, executing against specific tasks with guidance and support from other team members
• Collaborating with other team members, suggesting and discussing high level approaches to solve problems, code reviews & pair programming.

Requirements

What you need to succeed:

• Proficiency in developing, design and debugging C++ code with knowledge of C++ 11/14/17.

• Demonstrated excellence in software development for production systems, ideally in robotics applications. For example using testing, safety, and performance to inform design and implementation decisions.
• Working knowledge of robotics topics, e.g. sensor fusion, calibration, state estimation

Extra kudos if you have:

• Working knowledge of Python (Numpy, Scipy, Tensorflow/PyTorch, Jupyter Notebooks, etc)
• Experience working with and analysing large volumes of labelled and unlabelled data.
• Experience in developing pipelines for Continuous Integration/Continuous Development, performance analytics or data processing in a production environment.
