Full Stack Web Developer

Full Stack Web Developer, Web Developer urgently required on a full time permanent basis in Oxford, OX4.

The successful Full Stack Web Developer, Web Developer will work with a range of other Web Developers to design, build, test and deploy production ready web applications.

During your day:

  • Use your strong back-end web development skills, particularly with Python (Django or Flask) when liaising with other teams to understand their tooling requirements, incorporating these into specifications
  • You will be able to use and extend our existing Python/Django code base and adopt existing house styles while having an eye on the advantages, costs and consequences of refactoring and upgrading
  • You will understand the importance of documentation, consistent coding styles, modularisation, testing, automation and agile development
  • You will share the responsibility of making sure that our web-based applications are ready for demonstration for commercial and sponsor trials
  • You will be aware of common attack vectors and will follow best practices to ensure security when developing web applications
  • You will collaborate with other Developers, from discussing high level approaches to code reviews & pair programming


In order to succeed in this role:

  • Strong back-end web development skills, particularly with Python (Django or Flask)
  • Demonstrable experience designing and developing REST APIs
  • Solid experience with web app testing and debugging
  • Demonstrable experience with database management systems(SQL/NoSQL)

Extra kudos for any of the following:

  • Back-end or systems development experience in C++ and other compiled languages (e.g. Node.js, Java, Scala, Go, Ruby, C++)
  • Public portfolio and/or StackOverflow/Github profile
  • Experience deploying web apps to cloud such AWS or Azure
  • Front-end web development experience is a huge plus (particularly TypeScript and React)
  • Experience with Node.js and modern JavaScript tools including package management (npm), bundler (webpack), etc.
  • Experience with WebGL and Three.js

We specialise in mobile autonomy, navigation and perception and our solutions allow robots, vehicles, machinery and people to precisely map, navigate and actively interact with their surroundings.
