Responsible for the handling of all goods in the warehouse environment - from those arriving from suppliers to those stored within the building, you will be expected to be thorough in your checking of goods. You will also monitor stock levels, flagging up any products or goods that are running below pre-agreed levels.
The Warehouse Manager or Supervisor will set daily ad-hoc tasks for you to complete from putting together orders with multiple items, to ensuring that they are packed safely and will not suffer damage when in transit. Report back to your manager upon completion on tasks, and be sure to fill out any relevant paperwork.
As a warehouse environment can be a busy and sometimes dangerous one, you must make sure you are up-to-date with all workplace rules in terms of health and safety, as well as your company's procedures. From safe lifting you will usually receive training for this to the safe storage of hazardous materials, you will be expected to adhere to company rules at all times in order to ensure the safety of you and your colleagues, plus third parties using the warehouse.
